Glaxo Baby Book
c.1917. Owned by Mrs Wilson, mother of Eileen (b.1922), Victoria.
Glaxo was a dried milk powder that, in the days before pasteurisation, was safer than the standard available milk. Originally a NZ based company, Glaxo moved its head office to London in the 1930s, and years later became the massive multi-national GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
The Glaxo Baby Book is full of feeding tips, sample diets, health information and lots of testimonials of frail little babies near death who were fattened up by a diet of Glaxo.
